my occasional musings on life, love, art, perfume ... what else is there?

In My Life

There are places I’ll remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain

All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life
I’ve loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new

Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life
I love you more

Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life
I love you more

In my life
I love you more

Lennon/McCartney

Today's fragrance: Calandre by Paco Rabanne. Mysterious metallic non-sweet floral that dries down to a soft powder. The one I've emptied the most bottles of. In My Life.

This song and Calandre go together so nicely. What a calm and suitable duo for today.

It's taken three years for my peony plant to grow big enough to make blooms. This year I got exactly one bloom. It opened yesterday, a vibrant pink like the background pink on c'est chic. I want to run out there to look at it many times a day, it is so precious to finally have a single, small, bloom on that struggling little plant.

Briefcandle - I so envy your litho it's almost a crime...

Micki - This song is so beautiful, and depending on what's going on in my life it often moves me to tears. The image is a perfect complement for the lyrics. Thanks for jogging my memory!
