For My Father

(the Air Force, the last branch of the armed services to receive a memorial, unveiled their new one -- featuring spires in the shape of the "bomb burst" maneuver of the USAF Thunderbirds -- this week)

Off we go into the wild blue younder,
climbing high into the sun,
here they come, zooming to meet our thunder;
at 'em boys, give 'er the gun!
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,
off with one Hell-of-a roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame,
Nothing will stop the U.S. Air Force!

My PopPop was AF, and my brother is currently. Big salute from me.
