My son is NOT happy about this! Seriously. All their explanations are useless to an 8 year old who has faithfully pored over space encyclopedias and dreamed of faraway planets. And his first question after we read the story in the paper -- well, if its a dwarf planet, then it *is* a planet, right? -- shows how poorly they have redrawn the definition. Harumph.
Mind you, I couldn't care less, personally. My dreams are all about Parisian perfumeries...

Well, you know where I stand on the Parisian parfum ... but this makes me feel sorry for your son. It just seems like 8 years old is too young to be handed your first dose of arbitrary reality. I'm sorry, R, and R's son. xoxo
