my occasional musings on life, love, art, perfume ... what else is there?

Hallowe'en ... Time To Celebrate Dead Lemmings!

Every perfumista has a lemming (or twenty) that they fell out of love with ... the perfume you had to have, got ... and now: meh. What better time than Halloween ... All Hallows Eve ... The Day of the Dead ... to pay homage to those bottles where you lost that lovin' feelin'? Mine? *whisper* L'Artisan Voleur de Roses. My first love. Now either the bottle's gone bad or my chemistry's changed or ... the thing just stinks. I have cried over it and moved on. Why don't you list yours and do the same? Poor dears.

RIP

POTL, Nadebary, Lea St Barth, Jour de Fete, Ormonde, Tea for Two.

We were not meant to be.

*wipes a tear with a tiny lacy handkerchief*
*walks away into the sunset without turning her head even once*

The End.

I thought I wanted to wear Daim Blond on a regular basis, earlier this year, but I wore it for three days running and, at the end of those three days, I decided I didn't need more than the small decant I had. I still love it, but don't want to wear it. Pots of money saved there. Can't think of any other dead lemming.

Interesting... I have a weak sense of smell, as I've said before. But I'm a good eater... I can relate to being crazy about a food or beverage one day, then being over it the next. For the past few years, I've been a big fan of Diet Tonic Water (go figure). Then suddenly one day a few months ago, I couldn't stand the stuff. I'm back to the Diet Coke now.

All scents start to "stink" on me in my own opinion. I don't have a weak sense of smell (I don't think.) but things change on my body. So I don't buy scents.
However, like ap3I can relate in other things.

L'artisan Mure et Musk extreme. Craved it, bought several decants, finally admitted I needed a bottle, got a bottle, decided I was sick of it, swapped it for Tan Dao (my fav). I was very happy. :-)

I like perfumes, but know nothing about them--me ignorant.

I have lost that lovin' taste for candy corn. My mouth used to water so badly around them in candy shops that I was actually worried that maybe I was drooling. That's over.

Ode de la dead thing is a timeless scent for we canines.
Sorry, didn't have much to add to the convo and wanted to talk anyway
:P
AF always ends up using perfume on her clothing as scents change on her as well.

I only have one.

L'Artisan Mure et Musc. I love the bottle but hate the stuff inside.

Want to swap L'Artisans M?

Mure et Musc is dead.

I tried to wear men's cologne once. It gave me a headache, so I've never worn anything again.

Dolce & Gabbana Sicily. As much as I wanted to feel like Monica Bellucci in this, it smelled awful on me. Goodbye, friend....

I am loving that picture. Gives me ideas for an outrageously expensive Christmas tree, actually.

At the moment, Czech and Speake's Neroli. The moment my husband compared the smell coming off me to a Glade Plug-In, that was it for me and Neroli. Sigh.

Oh, Dead Lemmings, I have a few:

Vol de Nuit, Tendre Poison (what was I thinking?), SuL Cashmere, Kenzo red, Ambre Sultan, Ambre del Nepal, PdN Vanilla Tonka, iPF Caterina di Medici and Acqua Chiara, Caron Fleur de Rocaille. Shall I go on?
