my occasional musings on life, love, art, perfume ... what else is there?

I Could Go Either Way On This One.

1) But Why? Why send the Mothers out of London? And then what will the Children Do?

2) In gratitude for everything Mothers have done, are doing, will do ... to keep their children safe.

Happy Mother's Day!

Can you imagine sending your children off to live in the country with strangers while you keep going to work every day in a bomb-torn city? Boggles the mind.

You're right. There's so many things about that time that I can't imagine. That generation was really put through the mill.

You snarker you! That first had me bwah-ing in surprised laughter.

It's always so strange to see some of the ephemera from that time period, especially the posters like the one you picked. I can't imagine how hard it would be to try to convince the general population to do some terribly hard things with nothing more than paper. I wonder how many of those kids living in the country for a while never got to go home to their parents.

I admire the courage people had during those years. We think life is tough in the 21st Century - yes complicated perhaps but not tough for most people in most war free countries in the world.
The newest wars create another set of problems for children and I wonder how these war/famine/tsunami orphans cope.....

Thank you for this post.
